Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is preparing to host the Invest Telangana Global Summit 2026 from Dec 7 to 9 at Bharat Future City, Hyderabad. At a curtain-raiser event held in New Delhi on Oct 29, Revanth Reddy and Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal met industry representatives and promoted the state as an investment destination.
The summit preparations have drawn criticism from the opposition. In a five-minute interview, BRS MLA Kalvakuntla Sanjay Kumar questioned the state government's industrialisation policies and asked what concrete initiatives it had introduced to attract new industries and investors to Telangana.
#WATCH | Hyderabad, Telangana | On CM Revanth Reddy's participation in the Invest Telangana Global Summit, BRS MLA Kalvakuntla Sanjay Kumar says, " I'm wondering what initiatives he has taken for establishing a good industry in Telangana. What are you offering the industrialists who want to come and invest in Telangana? KC Rao had initiated a wonderful TSI pass with which you could set up an industry in Telangana state in 2 weeks. TSI pass, which has been renamed as the TGI pass by the CM, has been hacked for the past 2 weeks. What are you offering for industries to come to Telangana? The semiconductor industry, which was started during KCR's tenure, has been snatched by Gujarat. The pharma industry is ruined under your watch. I request the CM to stop delivering speeches and provide infrastructure for industrialists to come in and set up a good industry."

Sanjay Kumar compared the present administration's approach with that of former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, crediting the previous BRS government with introducing the Telangana State Industrial Project Approval and Self-Certification System, known as TS-iPASS. The system was designed to provide time-bound clearances for industries, with mega projects eligible for approvals within 15 days and other projects within 30 days.
The MLA alleged that the current government's renamed TG-iPASS portal had been hacked and remained disrupted for two weeks, questioning how the state could attract investors when its industrial approval system was facing technical problems.
The portal did suffer a ransomware attack and went offline on October 22. Industries Commissioner Nikhil Chakravarty subsequently said the data had been retrieved and decrypted, with no data lost. The disruption affected information relating to around 28,000 industries.
Sanjay Kumar also alleged that a semiconductor project initiated during KCR's tenure had been taken away from Telangana and shifted to Gujarat. He further accused the Revanth Reddy government of damaging the state's pharmaceutical industry.
In the interview, he said, “What are you offering for industries to come to Telangana? The semiconductor industry, which was started during KCR's tenure, has been snatched by Gujarat. The pharma industry is ruined under your watch.”
He urged the Chief Minister to focus on infrastructure rather than speeches, saying, “I request the CM to stop delivering speeches and provide infrastructure for industrialists to come in and set up a good industry.”
