Modi also wished the Home Minister a long and healthy life and wished him to continue serving the people of India. The message highlighted the close working relationship of the two senior leaders and the focus was placed on national security and the public well-being as key priorities of the Union government.

In his post, Modi wrote: “Warm birthday greetings to Home Minister Shri Amit Shah Ji. His administrative understanding has made India’s internal security systems more effective. Most important are the achievements in eliminating Maoism and in our dream of a society free from drugs.

PM says "I pray that he is blessed with a long and healthy life in service of the people". ” Shah's administrative style and two major areas of the Home Ministry's responsibilities: taking on left-wing extremism and the spread of drugs. The Prime Minister’s words fit within the government's emphasis on public order, strengthening security and drug control to a society free from drug abuse. We want to mark Amit Shah's birthday. Amit Shah has played an important role in the Union government's internal security policy since becoming Home Minister in 2019. His work has been to fight terrorism, strengthen coordination between central and state security agencies, improve border management and fight organised crime by investing in the country as well. Maoist insurgency is also being countered in areas affected by Maoist insurgency particularly in central and eastern India and Modi’s birthday message spoke of these efforts as integral to Shah’s administrative record. The government’s stated aim of reducing Maoist violence has long been the cornerstone of its wider strategy to improve security and support development in areas that are left-wing extremist.

The Prime Minister also spoke about the war against drugs and highlighted a drug-free society as a national goal. Drug trafficking and substance abuse are still quite serious issues and need cooperation between law-enforcement services, border authorities, state governments and public health institutions. The Home Ministry has been working with the Ministry to take action against narcotics networks and it is now working to improve coordination in identifying and disrupting illegal supply chains. As well as enforcement, public awareness, prevention and rehabilitation are also important steps to curb drug-related harm. Modi’s mention of this goal was an indication that the government’s approach was to address this problem as a law-enforcement priority and social issue.

Shah’s responsibilities as Home Minister go well beyond these two. The ministry oversees big questions - internal security, central armed police forces, border security, counterterrorism coordination or control of the various Union Territories. It also plays a crucial role in working in cooperation with state governments in addressing law and order problems as policing and public order are the property of the states under the Constitution of India. This all requires mutual cooperation among various institutions, efficient intelligence sharing and the ability to react to changing security threats. Modi's birthday tribute acknowledged Shah's administrative understanding as a major factor that made India's internal security system effective.

The message also shows Modi and Shah's long-standing political partnership. Both leaders are very prominent in the BJP and have been involved in major political and administrative work for many years in various parts of the BJP. Shah had served as the president of the BJP before being appointed to the Home Ministry at the Union government in 2019. Since then, he has been one of the most prominent ministers in government affairs in terms of national security, legislative priorities and organisation. The Prime Minister’s open welcome offered Shah a chance to acknowledge Shah’s work and send him his best wishes by sending him a personal message.

Most senior political leaders’ birthday wishes are personal and public in nature particularly when the minister is aware of their role and policy agenda. Modi’s message was particularly for internal security, Maoist violence and the struggle to build a society free from drugs. The tribute also contained a wish for Shah to be in good health and continue his work in the country. These areas will remain central to discussions about the Home Ministry’s priority and the coordination with government and state and national agencies as the government will continue to pursue its security and social policy goals.

Amit Shah’s birthday message to Modi was personal and also a public acknowledgment of the Home Minister’s work. The Prime Minister highlighted administrative effectiveness and the fight against Maoism and narcotics and he took the government to the next level in terms of national security and public welfare. A wish for Shah’s long and healthy life and that he would continue to serve the people of India.
