Reality Show Actress Reshma Alleges Harassment by Bhadravati Fayaz, Says Family Facing Severe Trouble

Reshma (social media personality and reality show actress Reshma) says she has been subjected to repeated harassment and online trolling from a man named Bhadravati Fayaz and has been harassed by a man we now call Bhadravati Fayaz on social media and phone calls and has also been harassed and called a troll by him, which is the reason why she has been afraid of him.

Reshma, who is popular on social media and a private television reality show, talked about the difficulties faced by women who become popular online. She said that while criticism and trolling are common for public figures, there is a difference between ordinary criticism and deliberately trying to damage someone's reputation. She said some people post ugly videos and social media comments about women to gain followers and increase their reach on social media. She asked if using someone’s image in a negative way simply to build one’s own following is justified.

Bhadravati Fayaz has been targeting her repeatedly through social media, she said. She claimed that he has an account named Salman and has posted and shared videos against her. Reshma claimed that the content was being used to troll her and attract followers. She also claimed that this person has been calling her numerous times and that her number was shared with other people, resulting in calls from several numbers.

Reshma said that before she would have seen trolls differently, and that social media criticism at times contributed to her popularity. But now, the harassment has made it difficult for her family to go around alone. She and her family have had to say no to certain places, and she said the online content has been trying to make her feel bad.

Reshma’s religious and cultural expressions were also some of the issues that she raised. She said she was questioned and harassed for wearing a bindi despite being a Muslim and for engaging in Kannada cultural activities like dancing on the streets. Acting and social media work are professions through which she supports her family, she said. She questioned why her appearance, cultural participation, or professional activities would be used as a basis for targeted harassment.

Reshma also recalled a conversation where the same person had approached her for promotional work for a shop. She had told him that the promotional work would cost around ₹10,000 to ₹15,000, she said. She claimed the conversation was used to make another video that depicted her negatively. Reshma said she has an audio recording of the purported conversation and intends to present relevant material to the police.

She also mentioned Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan as celebrity actors and explained that religious and cultural practices are different, so it’s not fair for people to say that anyone shouldn’t take part in cultural practices because they are a Muslim. Reshma said she should be able to carry out her profession and take part in cultural activities without being attacked and harassed.

Reshma now says she will approach Banashankari police and file a complaint against the person she identifies as Bhadravati Fayaz. She said the harassment has become a family-based and work-based issue that has affected her family and her ability to work. She also claimed that her children have difficulty going for prayers because of the situation.

The accusations made by Reshma are serious, and any criminal liability or wrongdoing would need to be established through a police inquiry and, in case of any legal proceedings. Reshma’s claims on harassment are based on her account at this time; she said in a statement that she has phone call records and audio evidence and she would forward that evidence to the police. More details will come when the complaint is made and an investigation takes place.

All of this brings up once again the issue of online trolling, misuse of personal information, and repeated unwanted communication faced by public figures on social media. Public criticism is a part of life, but threats that are made against an individual, harassment, privacy violations, or deliberate attempts to damage someone’s reputation can also be up for legal investigation.
