The competition for tech jobs in Bengaluru, often called India’s IT capital, is becoming increasingly intense as thousands of job seekers continue to arrive in the city in search of employment opportunities. A recent social media post by a recruiter has shed light on just how fierce the competition has become in the technology sector.

Massive Rush for Tech Roles
According to the recruiter, positions related to MERN stack and React development are seeing a particularly large number of applicants. These roles are among the most sought-after in the modern web development ecosystem, attracting both fresh graduates and experienced professionals.
The recruiter highlighted that the massive number of applications received in just two weeks clearly reflects the level of competition candidates face when applying for tech jobs in the city.
“More than 34,000 applications for MERN and React roles in just 15 days. This is the level of competition job seekers are dealing with today,” she wrote in her post.
Netizens React to Viral Post
The post quickly gained traction online, with many users sharing their own experiences about the challenges of finding a job in the tech industry.
Some professionals pointed out that while thousands of applications are submitted for each job posting, not all candidates meet the required qualifications. One user commented that their company often receives more than 500 resumes for a single position, but only a small fraction of applicants actually possess the necessary skills and experience.
Others argued that the rising number of job applications is also due to candidates applying to multiple openings simultaneously, sometimes even without meeting the job criteria.
Opportunities vs Competition
Despite the intense competition, Bengaluru continues to attract thousands of job seekers every year due to its status as India’s leading technology hub. The city is home to major IT companies, startups, and global tech firms, offering a wide range of opportunities in software development, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and other emerging technologies.
However, industry experts say the growing number of applicants means candidates must constantly upgrade their skills to stand out in the crowded job market.
While opportunities in the tech sector remain strong, the latest data shared by the recruiter highlights a clear trend as the number of tech jobs grows, so does the competition to secure them.
