Family members and neighbours are said to have rushed to his aid when he fell; he was then taken by ambulance to a nearby private hospital. On his arrival at the hospital, doctors declared him dead. The police are investigating the incident and what happened. Investigators are considering whether the fall was accidental or whether some other situation occurred.

Officials are also projected to take witness statements from relatives, neighbours and close associates as part of their investigation. During those months, Anik Dutta was riding a rollercoaster of moods, sources close to the filmmaker told sources. He reportedly battled severe depression and took too long without working, as it is reported.

And to add to the stress, his mother had died a few days before the occasion, perhaps two or three days before the occasion, and that sudden emotional defeat was devastating for him. Anik Dutta: Well-known Bengali filmmaker with an original directorial style that involved powerful social commentary. He wrote and wrote great films that enchanted audiences and critics and won several awards for them.

But his work had a far-reaching impact on modern Bengali cinema, and he had an extraordinarily devoted following and positive critical reception. Soon after his death was announced (when it was widely discussed), actors, directors, technicians and members of the film fraternity expressed sympathy for him.

A lot of celebrities and others, shocked by his sudden death, felt sympathy and thought of him as a wonderful filmmaker and creative person. And then there's the incident once again that says something about a poor state of mental health awareness and emotional support networks for the film industry: They also note the extent to which mental health problems (depression, grief, work-related stress) are often broached in public, especially for creative people who are perpetually in extreme emotional and economic pressure.

Police need to keep researching and go through their evidence before giving an official statement regarding the case. The filmmaker and the film industry, in turn, are mourning the loss of the latter. Because for you or someone you know who is struggling emotionally and or hurting, reaching out to trusted relatives, friends, or mental health professionals can be holistic, she said.
