Breaking the ‘Dhurandhar’ Record

Border 2 is passing through in front of Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar’s collection: the first half of the year 2025, which premiered in late 2025 for six days. Where Dhurandhar has basked on continual long term vitality, Border 2 has taken a more hardball route forward not least in the big scale circuits like Punjab, NCR and Jaipur.

  • Border 2 (Day 6 Net): ₹213 Crore
  • Dhurandhar (Day 6 Net): ~₹180 Crore

The verdict is that Border 2 is now the 2025-26 season’s highest grossing war drama.

Day Wise Collection Breakdown

Despite a normal decline in weeklies (a 35% fall from Tuesday), the occupancy of the film has remained at a steady 16–18% over all Hindi circuits.

Day Date Collection (Net)
Day 1 Jan 23 (Fri) ₹32.10 Cr
Day 2 Jan 24 (Sat) ₹40.59 Cr
Day 3 Jan 25 (Sun) ₹57.20 Cr
Day 4 Jan 26 (Mon - RD) ₹63.59 Cr
Day 5 Jan 27 (Tue) ₹23.31 Cr
Day 6 Jan 28 (Wed) ₹13.00 Cr
Total 6 Days ₹223.64 Cr (Estimates vary by ₹10Cr)

Worldwide Global Footprint

For the world’s box office, the gross contribution to Border 2 hovers within a hair’s breadth of ₹300 crore, thanks largely to the UK, Canada, and Australia. At the time, it had a global gross of approximately ₹292 crore and would make Sunny Deol the “Sultan of Mass Cinema.”

The Power of Nostalgia

Directed by Anurag Singh, blockbuster reviews in the mainstream are numerous. Its cast Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty has given the franchise a whole new lease of life and it is filled with high octane action elements and much to heart emotional patriotic themes, which, for many, make it a “must watch” for families. Trade analysts predict that with the least competition in week two, Border 2 could reach a lifetime collection of ₹600 crore, surpassing Gadar 2’s records.
