Sunny Deol’s patriotic wave carries through India as Border 2 takes its spot at the box office in all corners of India. After its huge Republic Day extended weekend, the film officially crossed ₹200 crore on its first Wednesday and took in ₹213 crore in just six days.
Breaking the ‘Dhurandhar’ Record
Border 2 is passing through in front of Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar’s collection: the first half of the year 2025, which premiered in late 2025 for six days. Where Dhurandhar has basked on continual long term vitality, Border 2 has taken a more hardball route forward not least in the big scale circuits like Punjab, NCR and Jaipur.
- Border 2 (Day 6 Net): ₹213 Crore
- Dhurandhar (Day 6 Net): ~₹180 Crore
The verdict is that Border 2 is now the 2025-26 season’s highest grossing war drama.

For the world’s box office, the gross contribution to Border 2 hovers within a hair’s breadth of ₹300 crore, thanks largely to the UK, Canada, and Australia. At the time, it had a global gross of approximately ₹292 crore and would make Sunny Deol the “Sultan of Mass Cinema.”
The Power of Nostalgia
Directed by Anurag Singh, blockbuster reviews in the mainstream are numerous. Its cast Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty has given the franchise a whole new lease of life and it is filled with high octane action elements and much to heart emotional patriotic themes, which, for many, make it a “must watch” for families. Trade analysts predict that with the least competition in week two, Border 2 could reach a lifetime collection of ₹600 crore, surpassing Gadar 2’s records.
