Actor Daali Dhananjaya, known for his commitment to pro-Kannada causes and his famous dialogue "The children of the poor must rise," recently showcased his dedication to the Kannada language and the welfare of underprivileged children at a Kannada Rajyotsava event in his hometown of Arasikere.
Addressing the local community, the celebrated actor delivered a powerful and heartfelt message, stressing the critical importance of keeping Kannada-medium schools operational and ensuring that no child is deprived of education.
"Kannada schools should never close," he asserted, speaking with conviction amidst the crowd. "You must ensure that the Kannada schools in your villages do not shut down."
Dhananjaya acknowledged the trend where, even with bus facilities bringing children to town schools, many parents who are financially strong enroll their kids in different institutions. However, he emphasized that there will always be families who are unable to afford to send their children to distant or expensive schools.
"We may become powerful, but the less fortunate will always be there," he noted. "There will always be parents who cannot afford to send their children to other schools."
He made a passionate plea for the future of the children who rely on these local schools: "Whether a Kannada school has five children, ten children, two children, or even just one child—that single child should not be deprived of education. Kannada schools must not close."
He underscored the long-term value of education, stating that if two children in a family become educated, it becomes an "asset" for the entire family.
The event, organized by his childhood friends under the banner of the 'Daali Dhananjaya Brigade,' was a celebration of Kannada statehood and culture. Throughout the program, the actor displayed his characteristic simplicity and celebrated the values of friendship by warmly naming all his childhood friends, highlighting the strong bonds he maintains with his roots.
