Social media influencer Orhan Awatramani, popularly known as Orry, has been summoned by the Mumbai Police in connection with a massive ₹252-crore drug case. The Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) has directed him to appear for questioning at its Ghatkopar unit.
The summons comes as part of an ongoing investigation into a sprawling narcotics network uncovered in March 2024, when police seized over 126 kg of mephedrone (MD) worth ₹252 crore from a manufacturing facility in Sangli district. The case has since expanded, with investigators probing alleged links between the drug syndicate and individuals from Bollywood, the fashion industry, and high-profile social circles. Orry’s name reportedly surfaced during interrogations of accused persons already in custody.
According to officials, Orry has been asked to appear at 10 am for questioning, where investigators will verify claims made by arrested drug dealer Mohammed Salim Suhail Sheikh. Sheikh allegedly organized rave parties and facilitated drug supply to celebrities and influencers. Police sources have indicated that Orry’s role, if any, will be clarified during interrogation, but his summoning itself highlights the widening scope of the probe.
This development marks the second time Orry has faced controversy related to substance use, as he was previously booked in a separate case in Jammu and Kashmir. The current summons has drawn significant public attention due to Orry’s popularity on social media and his frequent appearances with Bollywood stars. While no charges have been filed against him yet, his questioning underscores the seriousness of the investigation and the authorities’ intent to examine all possible connections in the ₹252-crore drug racket
