Now, with Kartik Aaryan's Naagzilla Bollywood is ready to try its hand at the full fledged fantasy-comedy scene. The theatres also let you know that this film will be released in theaters on 12th February 2027 on the calendar of Valentine’s Day weekend. Dharma Productions and Mahaveer Jain Films are the partners of the film’s exciting mix of mythology, fantasy, and comedy.
The Indian folklore and shape shifting snakes (naags and naagins) that populate this realm will give the film’s premise: how can we aid filmgoers, in any way? The movie is of the best fantasy genre, and, of course, directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, a genre that has earned us the movie-goers rapturous thumbs up.
Lamba also has an impressive career and is known for the Fukrey series, so he looks to take this much larger than life fantasy another notch higher. Naagzilla is an ancient Indian tale filtered through a modern cinematic lens. Embedded in humor, emotion and graphical spectacle, the concept and conversation is the personification of modern folklore.

The film also attempts to present some folklore in a way that is age-appropriate, appealing for the ages that are not quite too old or adult and children in general. The film is made by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Mahaveer Jain, Adar Poonawalla, and Marijke deSouza together with Divyansh Jain. The screenplay is by Gautam Mehra.
The announcement was already stoking a buzz around its unusual concept and the star power behind it; in the end, this only served to reinforce a hype cycle. While creature comedies are rarely seen in Indian cinema, Naagzilla will certainly have its work cut out for it in terms of visuals and narrative concept.
Naagzilla has plans to launch a Valentine’s Day film aimed at making it a mass-entertainment film for a wider audience, with a very warm-hearted approach towards comedy. Naagzilla may be one of Bollywood’s most anticipated movie movies during the year to come for an entire generation of audiences.
