Rashmika Mandanna officially gets ready to become daughter-in-law of Deverakonda household. The couple is married at the extravagant ITC Mementos Ekaaya in Udaipur, Rajasthan on Feb 26th in what is to some scholars the hottest celebrity wedding of the year 2026.
Though the celebrations have been packed with high-octane games and laughter, a touching moment in the Sangeet ceremony has struck a national chord in the hearts of millions of fans.
A Gift of Generations: The Heirloom Bangles
In what has been a particularly star-studded scene on the night, Vijay’s mother Madhavi Deverakonda unexpectedly gifted a historical and emotional treasure to her future daughter-in-law.
She gave Rashmika a couple of gold heirloom bangles that are traditional and passed down through generations of the Deverakonda family. These bangles are also part of family tradition, with the eldest daughter-in-law receiving them as offerings of acceptance, legacy and unconditional love.
Rashmika, in turn, appeared shocked by the act of adding the gifts to her wrist, tearing up, as her mother-in-law personally placed the ornaments on her wrists, sources at the venue said. This gesture marks Rashmika’s official status as the "elder bahu" of the family.
Weddings "VIROSH": A Celebration
Known as "VIROSH" by some of their fans, the couple didn't follow the typical pattern and began their celebrations with a "Virosh Premier League," a friendly cricket match between the bride's family and the groom's family. The wedding itinerary features a lovely bit of both cultures:
- Morning Ceremony: A Telugu Hindu wedding that celebrates Vijay’s legacy
- Evening Ceremony: A Kodava style wedding celebrating Rashmika’s Coorgi tradition.
- Location: A luxury resort in the Aravalli range, with private helipads and a "no-phone" policy to protect the 50-odd intimate guests' privacy.
A Bond Beyond the Big Screen
The relationship Rashmika has with Vijay’s parents is nothing new. The actress has maintained a presence for several years at the Deverakonda house in Hyderabad, celebrating many holidays, including Diwali and Sankranti together. Madhavi Deverakonda had previously indicated her wants in a daughter-in-law, confessing in an old interview that she only wanted someone who would love her son unconditionally and know what it means to watch her son have a demanding career. It seems Rashmika has ticked off those boxes, too, but she is also a beloved daughter to the household before official vows, it looks.
