A viral social media post has been drawing attention to Mukesh Ambani undergoing a security check, with users praising what appears to be a routine security procedure.
But should an ordinary security check be treated as something extraordinary? Common people go through security screening every day, particularly at airports and other public places. The discussion also raises questions about the difference in how ordinary citizens and India's wealthiest individuals are treated.
Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries, is among India's wealthiest businessmen. His estimated wealth varies with market valuations. Fortune India's 2026 rich list estimated it at around ₹8.67 lakh crore, while the Hurun India Rich List 2026 placed him second among India's richest individuals.

Vantara and the controversies
The discussion around the Ambani family also brings attention to Vantara, the wildlife rescue and rehabilitation centre in Jamnagar, Gujarat, led by Anant Ambani.
Vantara faced allegations concerning animal acquisition, possible smuggling, animal welfare and financial irregularities. However, these allegations were examined by a Supreme Court-appointed Special Investigation Team (SIT), which coordinated with several central and state agencies.

In September 2025, the Supreme Court accepted the SIT's findings that it had found no violations of the laws examined and closed the complaints covered by the investigation. Therefore, the allegations should not be presented as established wrongdoing.
The case also involved scrutiny of regulatory approvals and government agencies. However, the investigation's involvement of central agencies does not, by itself, establish any improper collaboration between the government and the Ambani family.
We must remember that worship and praising celebrities for such small and basic things is what creates entitlement. It is everyone's duty to do such security checkups for everyone's safety
