Boonville Church Explosion: Multiple Injured at Abundant Life Fellowship

There’s an emergency response in Oneida County in the United States, where a purported explosion that smashed up the Abundant Life Fellowship Church on Tuesday morning is currently the focus. The action took place at the church’s building at 12644 State Route 12 located just south of the village of Boonville. Emergency personnel informed the public that calls came in shortly, indicating an explosion inside the building.

Emergency Response and Injuries  

Although state authorities have not finalized official numbers, initial scanner traffic along with reports from the scene showed that at least three people had been injured. The severity of these injuries is not yet known. The incident’s major scale spurred a “mutual aid” call, and emergency responders arrived from many surrounding townships. The other agencies on the scene or in transit are (current):  

  • Fire Departments: Boonville, Remsen, Barneveld, Stittville, Constableville and Forestport.  
  • Medical: Boonville Ambulance, North Star EMS, AmCare Ambulance.  
  • Law Enforcement: Oneida County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police.

Cause Under Investigation  

A strong odor of gas was reported from the area after the blast sounded, according to witnesses who walked into the vicinity, but official fire officials have yet to confirm whether a gas leak was at fault. State fire investigators have been called to the scene to discover the source of the explosion.

Neighboring congregations and members of the local community have already started asking for prayers. "Pray for the Abundant Life Church on SR 12 in Boonville for an explosion in the building with multiple injuries." Motorists are told to avoid State Route 12 close to the church because emergency vehicles are on location and investigators are protecting the scene.
