The announcement comes as thousands gather to shop, worship, tour tourism sites, take family holidays and celebrate during one of the most important days in the Islamic calendar that takes place in the emirate.

Free Parking in Public During the Eid-time

Public parking sites are free during Islamic holiday times except for multi-storey parking, RTA in Dubai. Most parking in public will be open to residents and visitors on the holidays, they expect. The free parking offer is a means to ease the traffic, and ensure a more convenient visit to the malls, public and private attractions, entertainment and family centres during the festival period.

Under the holiday concession plan, multi-storey parking options will continue to be subject to the same payment parking standards as would be available by regular paid parking, officials said.

Dubai Metro Eid Timings

The Dubai Metro will have long leisure periods to accommodate the anticipated rise in the number of passengers during Eid. And while service will kick off early in the morning and continue until late at night on the Red Line and Green Line during the holiday.

The longer times are tailored around travel times: commuting times to prayer, shopping/festival holidays, airport transfers, and tourism commuting during peak seasons. During peak travel hours, officials say, NOL cards and other digital payment options have been encouraged to allow people to move through and get to the station faster.

Dubai Tram and Bus Services

The Dubai Tram will also operate in amended Eid rush hours in line with the times of connection with the Metro to allow the city’s significant residential and tourist areas to benefit during the peak tourist season in Dubai. Dubai public buses will run on holiday schedules, along with some having their arrival times changed.

More buses would be dispatched to busy roads with high traffic flow points, but also to shops, beaches, parks and transport hubs in areas where holiday tourists could be presumed to be able to draw on the services’ availability during peak seasons, officials said.

Travellers should be sure to consult official (RTA) systems before travel for schedule changes, as the timings on certain routes tend to be adjusted based on demand and traffic congestion.

Marine Transport Services

Dubai’s marine transport network, which includes abras, water taxis and ferry services, will also operate on modified schedules for Eid. More footfall may come to key waterfront and tourist spots over the day in Dubai. Transport workers and operational personnel will remain on site at priority stations and terminals to manage passenger movements efficiently, the authorities said.

Expected Movement in Dubai on the Rise

Eid Al Adha is among the busiest travel and shopping periods in history for the UAE. Dubai’s shopping malls, entertainment establishments, hotels, beaches and attractions are packed with tourists and locals as the festivities take place.

Free parking, convenient public transport, etc., offer excellent transportation for the festive season, which is useful for relieving congestion for a longer time, as well as better encouraging an increased frequency of people using public transport.

Authorities also ask motorists and commuters to plan for travel, especially in proximity to the size of large prayer houses, malls and family-friendly areas in Dubai, especially where traffic volumes are likely to spike during the rush hours, the report said. Residents are encouraged to study Dubai’s official RTA so their holiday timetable, routes, and parking needs are mapped out at Eid.
