The visit to France ended Wednesday as Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Paris to complete his tour, after having participated in the G7 summit in Evian.
The prime minister was greeted warmly upon his arrival in the French capital by members of the Indian diaspora.
"I have reached Paris a few minutes ago amid warm greetings from the Indian diaspora here. I am proud of their contributions towards bringing India and France even closer. The India-France partnership is crucial for the development of our planet," said PM Modi in an X post.
As part of his visit to Paris, the PM is expected to deliver a speech at VivaTech, Europe’s biggest technology and startup convention, as well as meet diaspora members during a special meeting.
This Paris leg comes after the prime minister attended the G7 summit in Evian, wherein he spoke with other world leaders on global affairs like governance, AI, and collaboration with the Global South.
Speaking about his engagements at the summit being “productive”, PM Modi stated that he has made India’s stand on governance and policymaking known while stressing on the importance of cooperation with developing nations.
“I have had a productive round of meetings and interactions at the G7 Summit in Evian. I have got a chance to put across India’s perspective and work on areas of governance and policy-making. In addition, we also had a chance to stress the need to cooperate with the Global South as far as global prosperity is concerned,” he tweeted.
While at the summit, PM Modi attended the session on artificial intelligence. While doing so, he talked about India’s efforts to develop ethical, responsible and human-centric AI. The prime minister also talked about adopting an inclusive approach that ensures that developing nations also benefit from emerging technologies.
PM Modi also took part in the Outreach Session on “Reviving a Balanced, Shared and Sustainable Economic Growth for All”. While attending the session, PM Modi talked about India’s development philosophy of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas” stating that India’s story of development is built on the principles of inclusion, scale and democracy.”
