The Indian Air Force confirmed the incident, stating that the fighter jet went down around 2:10 pm local time while performing an aerial display in front of a large audience of aviation professionals and spectators.

According to eyewitness accounts cited by local media, the aircraft crashed into the ground shortly after take-off. Videos and photographs shared online showed large plumes of thick black smoke rising into the air from the crash site.

One eyewitness told the Khaleej Times, "As soon as the plane took off, it crashed. I am not sure which aircraft it was." Another witness confirmed that helicopters and firefighting teams immediately rushed to the scene, which was reportedly cleared within approximately 45 minutes.

Following the crash, show organizers temporarily halted the air display, and visitors were directed back to the exhibition area, as reported by Gulf News. The fate of the pilot is currently being ascertained, with further details expected as the IAF and local authorities conduct an investigation into the cause of the accident.

The Tejas, a multi-role fighter developed by India's Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), was a significant part of the Indian contingent at the prestigious international air show, showcasing India's indigenous defense capabilities.
