Zaid Khan, founder of Zedital Media, has already built an estimated ₹5 crore net worth through the development of his branding agency and sensible real estate investments at the age of 25 years old.
Khan had his first talk at the Crore Club podcast hosted by Shreya Hegde about his entrepreneurial journey, financial philosophy and why he chose to study at IIM Bangalore despite already having a successful business.
Building Confidence Through Selling
Hegde pointed out the difference between Khan’s entrepreneurial journey and that of many of his classmates who are looking to become high-paid corporate workers. When asked what advice he would give to young entrepreneurs in this field, Khan suggested that young people start working early, regardless of the amount of money.
He believes that selling a skill, service or even some advice for ₹100 or ₹200 is good for growing confidence and setting up for bigger business opportunities. He believes that taking the first step toward entrepreneurship is often more valuable than waiting for the perfect idea.
Why an Online Presence Matters
Khan also emphasized the importance of having a strong digital identity. Content is “digital currency,” he said, but people and businesses without an online presence risk becoming invisible in today’s competitive market.
His own company, Zedital Media Private Limited, also specializes in branding and digital marketing services. The agency provides personal branding, meme marketing, content distribution, online reputation management (ORM), content distribution management (CDM), and LinkedIn profile amplification services for individuals and businesses.
From NEET Aspirant to Entrepreneur
Khan's career path was far from conventional. He came from a middle-class family and he initially put himself through the NEET medical entrance examination because the career option was to become a doctor.
But in class 12 he opted for a different direction. During competitive exams, he started working with YouTube creators quietly and secured freelance work. A job from a California-based influencer earned him ₹1.24 lakh and that gave him the confidence to pursue digital media full-time.
He later transferred to a Journalism and Mass Communication course after getting his parents to accept his decision. Khan began with a Canon 80D camera and eventually started a production house which grew to be the branding agency he now leads.
First Crore at 22
Khan said he crossed the ₹1 crore mark in 2023, as he was just 22 years old. Since that time he has continued to expand Zedital Media by putting all the profits back into the business and expanding his investment portfolio.
Even though his success was great, Khan signed up for IIM Bangalore because he needed to acquire a higher level of academic knowledge to complement his business experience. He said what he learned in the classroom is put to work in his company.
Lessons on Money
Khan reflected on his journey and said he has made financial mistakes in his early years impulsive spending. He now advises young entrepreneurs to aim for disciplined financial decisions and long-term wealth creation and hence to remain disciplined in their long-term career.
As Khan put it, money is not as much about the end of anything as it is the beginning of something bigger.
“They’re fuel to whatever you want to do,” he said, and I’d like young people to learn and make something good, and make something valuable and not just gain money.
