Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit Assumes Charge as Vice Chief of the Air Staff of the Indian Air Force

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has received new senior leadership in the form of Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit, PVSM, AVSM, VM, VSM, who has been appointed to the position of Vice Chief of the Air Staff (VCAS) and is also on a tenure of the IAF as the force is still modernising and improving India’s air defence capability.

The Vice Chief of Air Staff is the second-highest-ranking officer in the Indian Air Force and has a critical role in the overall management of operational planning, force development, modernization initiatives, and overall administration.

A Distinguished career in the Indian Air Force

Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit has decades of military aviation and command experience and strategic planning knowledge. He has held several key operational, instructional, and staff positions in the Indian Air Force.

He has been instrumental in the development of operational readiness and the development of the IAF capabilities in the very fast-changing security landscape.
