Andhra Pradesh Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted raids on the residence of a Senior Assistant working at the Nandyala Sub-Registrar Office and discovered assets worth more than ₹2.80 crore that were disproportionate to the official's known sources of income.
The searches were carried out as part of an investigation into allegations of amassing wealth through illegal means, ACB officials said. Teams searched at the official’s residence and other locations connected to the employee once permissions were given.
Investigators had found many of the valuable assets in the raids, like residential properties, agricultural land, bank deposits, gold ornaments, vehicles and other investments. Analysts have estimated that the recovered assets are worth over ₹2.80 crore.
The searches are still part of an ongoing investigation, and the exact valuation of the properties and financial holdings may change, officials say, once all documents are verified. Financial records, property documents, and digital evidence seized during the operation will be examined to determine if the assets are disproportionate to the employee's legitimate earnings.

The ACB has launched the operation based on credible information about suspected corruption and the accumulation of wealth beyond known income. Disproportionate assets are assessed under the Prevention of Corruption Act which obliges the government to investigate public servants suspected of acquiring unexplained wealth.
A senior ACB official said that ongoing investigations into financial transactions, property purchases and investment practices are also ongoing. The agency will also check if any benami property or undisclosed investments of the accused are linked to the accused.
The raid is closely watched by Nandyala residents. Anti-corruption measures by ACB are on the rise and the agency is targeting public servants suspected of corrupt behavior across Andhra Pradesh.
The valuation announced so far is only preliminary and a more detailed assessment will be made after reviewing all seized records. If any other charges are made, the agency may also file legal action as required by law, they said.
The ACB also said it would continue to support transparent and accountable public administration and advised citizens to report corruption in public complaint channels so credible information would be investigated.
Details including the final assessment of assets and future legal action will be determined after verification and after the investigators have made their findings.
