Reason for the Delay: Systems Maintenance
The BMRCL stated that the temporary rescheduling is necessary to carry out urgent systems maintenance and upgradation works. These technical trials and maintenance activities are part of the ongoing effort to optimize the driverless train technology and signaling systems on the 19.15-km corridor.
The timing adjustment comes just as the BMRCL prepares for a significant boost in operations. A sixth trainset is expected to be inducted into the Yellow Line fleet on Monday, December 22, which will reduce peak-hour waiting times from 15 minutes to approximately 12 minutes.
Impact on Commuters
The late start is expected to primarily impact IT professionals and industrial workers in Electronic City and Bommasandra who utilize early morning shifts. BMRCL has requested passengers to plan their travel accordingly and cooperate with the technical teams. Regular Sunday frequency and timings will resume immediately after the 8:00 AM launch.
