Bengaluru: 19-Year-Old Acharya College Student Death in PG: Suicide Suspected

The academic community of Acharya College in Soladevanahalli, Bengaluru, has been shaken by the tragic news of a final year B.Pharm student, Vatsala (19), who allegedly died by suicide in her paying guest accommodation.

Vatsala, who hailed from Hassan, was a dedicated student pursuing her final year Bachelor of Pharmacy degree at Acharya College, Soladevanahalli.

Circumstances of the Incident

The incident was reported from the Petals Girls' PG where Vatsala was residing. It is reported that the 19-year-old student took the extreme step around 2:30 PM today, hanging herself from a ceiling fan in her room.

The news has sent shockwaves through the college and the PG community, who are struggling to comprehend the sudden loss of the young woman.

Police Launch Investigation

Upon receiving the information, officials from the Soladevanahalli Police Station immediately rushed to the location to conduct an inspection and begin their preliminary investigation. The police have taken the case and are working to piece together the events that led to the tragedy.

A key focus of the investigation is to ascertain the exact reason behind Vatsala's decision, as no immediate or clear cause for the suicide has been confirmed yet. Police officials are expected to question her roommates, friends, and college authorities to look for any signs of academic stress, personal difficulties, or other contributing factors.

The body has been secured and will be transferred for post-mortem examination as part of the formal legal procedure. Vatsala's family in Hassan has been notified and is on their way to Bengaluru.
