The incident took place in Ramakrishna Layout of Sanjay Nagar, where the accused reportedly arrived on a bike and entered the premises wearing helmets to conceal their identities. The entire act was captured on CCTV cameras installed nearby, offering crucial evidence for the ongoing police investigation.

According to initial reports, the thieves broke open the main door of the house and quietly entered without alerting the residents. What makes the incident particularly alarming is that the house owner was asleep in one of the rooms during the burglary and remained completely unaware of the incident as it unfolded.

The burglars allegedly stole around 160 grams of gold, 50 grams of silver, and cash amounting to ₹5.3 lakh. The total value of the stolen items is estimated to be ₹9.3 lakh. Despite spending considerable time inside the house, the accused managed to escape without waking the occupant, indicating a well-planned and carefully executed operation.

The crime came to light only later when the homeowner’s brother arrived at the house and noticed that valuables were missing. Shocked by the incident, he immediately checked with his brother, who claimed he had no knowledge of any burglary during the night. This revelation left the family stunned, as the theft had occurred right under their nose.

Following the discovery, a complaint was lodged at the Sanjay Nagar Police Station. Authorities have since launched an investigation and are closely examining the CCTV footage to identify and track down the suspects. Police officials believe the use of helmets and the method of entry suggest that the culprits may be part of a seasoned burglary gang.

This incident highlights the growing sophistication of urban crimes, where offenders exploit late-night hours and minimal disturbances to carry out thefts. It also raises questions about residential security measures and the need for more robust systems such as alarm devices, reinforced doors, and neighborhood vigilance.

Police have assured that efforts are underway to nab the accused at the earliest. Meanwhile, residents in the area have been urged to stay alert and take necessary precautions to safeguard their homes against such incidents.

The Sanjay Nagar burglary serves as a chilling reminder that even occupied homes are not immune to crime, emphasizing the importance of constant vigilance and improved security practices.
