The Sequence of Events

The incident occurred on the evening of April 8, 2026. According to police reports, the young victim was playing near her residence when she was approached by the accused. Mohammad Munna, who had moved from Bihar to Bengaluru in search of manual labor, allegedly lured the child away from the sight of her neighbors and family.

He reportedly took her to a nearby under-construction building, a secluded spot where he committed the heinous act. In a chilling attempt to silence the victim and conceal his tracks, Munna allegedly handed the girl ₹150 after the assault, strictly instructing her not to disclose the incident to anyone before fleeing the scene.

Discovery and Arrest

The situation came to light when the girl’s parents became anxious after noticing her absence from her usual play area. After a frantic search of the neighborhood, the child returned home. Her parents immediately noticed that she was visibly shaken and holding cash.

When questioned about where the money came from, the minor broke down and narrated the traumatic ordeal she had endured. Realizing the gravity of the situation, the parents rushed to the Jnanabharathi Police Station to lodge a formal complaint.

The Bengaluru police acted swiftly, launching a manhunt for the suspect based on the description provided. Mohammad Munna was tracked down and taken into custody within hours. He is currently being interrogated, and authorities have registered a case under the relevant sections of the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
