A shocking hit-and-run incident in Bengaluru’s Jayamahal area late last night has left residents shaken. A Toyota Innova Crysta rammed into a two-wheeler and dragged it for several meters, causing petrol leakage from the bike. The friction and fuel spill triggered a fire, engulfing the car in flames and creating panic in the neighborhood.
According to police reports, a woman riding pillion on the two-wheeler sustained injuries in the crash. Eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic, with sparks flying as the bike was dragged along the road before catching fire. The accused driver abandoned the burning vehicle and fled immediately, leaving behind a trail of destruction.
The RT Nagar Traffic Police Station has registered an FIR in connection with the case. Investigators are now working to identify and trace the absconding driver. Authorities have assured that CCTV footage from the area and eyewitness accounts will play a crucial role in tracking down the culprit.
Residents of Jayamahal expressed concern over the increasing number of reckless driving incidents in the city. Many pointed out that despite repeated awareness campaigns, speeding and hit-and-run cases continue to rise, endangering lives and property.
