Commuting on the Bengaluru–Mysuru Expressway has become costlier as revised toll charges have come into effect from April 1, following the annual revision by the National Highways Authority of India.

The toll rates have been increased by ₹5 to ₹25 across different categories of vehicles. The revised charges are now applicable at both major toll plazas Kanaminike and Gananguru along the 118-kilometre-long expressway connecting Bengaluru and Mysuru.

Updated Toll Rates

  • Car/Jeep/Van: ₹180 (previously ₹175)
  • Light Motor Vehicles: ₹285 (previously ₹280)
  • Truck/Bus: ₹600 (previously ₹585)
  • Commercial Vehicles: ₹655 (previously ₹640)
  • Heavy Vehicles: ₹940 (previously ₹920)
  • Multi-axle Vehicles: ₹1,145 (previously ₹1,120)

For a one-way journey across the full stretch of the expressway, commuters will now have to pay up to ₹355, compared to ₹345 earlier.

Annual Toll Revision

The toll hike aligns with the standard practice of revising highway charges every year starting April 1, based on factors such as inflation and maintenance costs. Authorities maintain that the revision is necessary to ensure upkeep and smooth functioning of the high-speed corridor.

Commuters Feel the Pinch

Frequent travelers and commercial vehicle operators have expressed concern over the increased costs, stating that even marginal hikes add to the overall financial burden, especially for daily commuters and transport businesses.

The Bengaluru–Mysuru Expressway, a major infrastructure project in Karnataka, has significantly reduced travel time between the two cities. However, the latest toll revision is expected to impact travel expenses for thousands of users who rely on the route ежедневно.

With toll collection now higher at both ends of the expressway, commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and factor in the revised costs.
