The weirdest of all was a late-night incident in Bengaluru’s Outer Ring Road (ORR), which left drivers and onlookers puzzled and perplexed. Two men were seen sitting in the middle of the busy road with a lamb, in the middle of the road and were in the middle of traffic, and the passers-by were probably taken aback by the strange scene.
It was around 10 pm, when the flyover is typically busy as we arrive home from work. Witnesses also stated that as they walked over the flyover, they saw two men on the carriageway and that they appeared to be having some sort of conversation; one man was holding the lamb, and the other one had a postcard or placard on his shoulder, and he was saying he had something to do with it. This was a bit unusual for the motorists, who were puzzled about why they did this so weirdly.
According to several witnesses who also tried and failed to persuade drivers and pedestrians to get out of the road, the men did not move and continued to stand by despite repeated calls from people to stop until the traffic stopped and people had to move out from the drivers and pedestrians to get out of the road. Traffic stopped, and congestion soared on the flyover, and commuters were frustrated as they had to navigate routes home. People who were there tried to engage the two men in conversation and to find out their names and why they decided to sit on the road. But they were confused and could not provide a clear answer, they said. For a lot of the people there, they spoke Malayalam, so it was an additional struggle for many people to understand their words or the situation.
A great deal of this is still not clear: what motivated the odd move? Were the people who did it just to make a little money on social media, some kind of media stunt, or just to make a picture? The mystery of what they were doing has only increased the intrigue of the whole episode.
There is no police statement about this at present, and no formal case has been registered in the case, but as of now, there is no official statement by the police. The authorities have said they are going to look for anything that may have been done wrong in public nuisance or obstruction of traffic, which would be very serious for the people involved.
