The Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) and the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM) have announced a major scheduled power shutdown for Wednesday, December 10. The disruption is required to facilitate urgent emergency maintenance works being carried out by KPTCL at the crucial 220/66/11 KV Somanahalli Substation. This essential maintenance is aimed at ensuring the long-term stability, safety, and reliability of the power supply infrastructure in the region.
The power supply will be suspended for nine hours, running from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Both corporations have issued a joint appeal to citizens residing in the affected zones to cooperate with the power corporation while the maintenance work is being undertaken.

The power outage will impact a wide geographical area falling under the jurisdiction of the Somanahalli Substation, affecting several important industrial and institutional establishments, as well as numerous villages and residential hamlets.

A large number of surrounding villages will also face the nine-hour shutdown, including Ravugodlu, Nettigere, Girigowdanadoddi, Muthurayanapura, Inoradoddi, Sonaredoddi, Naukalpalya, Gudipalya, Naganavakanahalli, Mallipalya, Tasudevarapalya, Vasudevarapalya, Gollarapalya, Nallakanadoddi, Kerechudarnahalli, Sadhanapalya, Hosadoddi, Nelaguli, and Lingapparanadoddi.
Other Localities and Settlements:
The disruption will also hit Gundanjaneya Teranpal, Gottigehalli, Gandhinagar, Pattareddipalya, Veerasandra, Jattipalya, Thittahalli, Gangakanagoddi, Bokipura, Thokathimmanadoddi, Edumadu, Ravaradoddi, Tataguppe, Gadipalya, Mukkodlu, Muninagar, and the surrounding areas of Kaggalipur.
