Residents and enterprises in the critical districts of Bengaluru are also called upon to take precautions in anticipation of the major power shortages this Saturday, February 14th, 2026. The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) has declared scheduled outages from 10:00 AM till 5:00 PM in order to make necessary maintenance and repair efforts of the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) at 66/11 kV substations possible. The maintenance operation will be implemented to various areas such as Jalahalli, Domlur, Indiranagar, Halasuru and key business towns around KG Road.
Substation-wise Outage Schedule
Amarajyothi Substation (10:00 AM through 3:00 PM). The maintenance will be focused on residential and tech hubs near Domlur and HAL, and at this station.
Affected Areas
Domlur 2nd Stage, Kodihalli, Domlur Village, Yogananda Layout, Paramahamsa Road, Dhupanahalli, HAL 2nd Stage (up to 6th Main), ESI Hospital, 100 Feet Road, Salarpuria Tech Park, JRR Layout and Diamond District.
- NGEF Substation (10:00 AM – 3:00 PM). Central-East Bengaluru will be down for five hours in much of the region.
Affected Areas: Indiranagar 1st Stage, HAL 2nd Stage, Halasuru, Cambridge Road, RMZ Millenia, Jogupalya, Old Madras Road, Benniganahalli, Kaggadasapura, CV Raman Nagar, Kasturinagar, Sadanandanagar and Pai Layout. - Gokul Substation (10:00 AM – 5:00 PM). Northern Bengaluru would be suffering a far more protracted 7-hour disruption.
Affected Areas: Jalahalli Village, BEL North & South Colony, Gangamma Circle, Kammagondanahalli, Bahubali Nagar, HMT Industrial Estate, Sharadambanagar, Muthyalnagar and numerous Prestige apartments (Wellington, Kensington). - Kanteerava Substation (10:00 AM – 5:00 PM). Key commercial and government zones will also be affected.
Affected Areas: KG Road, Nrupatunga Road, RBI, UVCE, Martha’s Hospital, Government Arts College, Sunkalpet, Nagarathpet, Cubbonpete (various crosses) and SP Road. - Remco Substation (10:00 AM – 5:00 PM). Areas along Mysuru Road will experience daytime interruptions.
Affected Areas: Mysuru Road (4th, 6th, and 7th Cross), Shamanna Garden, Manjunatha Nagar, Pipeline Road, New and Old Guddadahalli, Kuvempu Nagar.
Important Advice for Residents
- Charge Devices: Make sure laptops, mobile phones, and power banks are charged full before 10 a.m.
- Water Storage: Residents should be able to store their water in advance as electric pumps in apartments.
- Business Planning: Tech parks and retail centers in Indiranagar and KG Road are advised to check the state of generator backup on backup days.
BESCOM has said that as long as maintenance at individual stations continues to be performed, even though work seems urgent now, there is no doubt they would like power on the grid in time.
