Planned power outages will last for 7 hours on parts of the city on Feb 6 and Feb 7. The disruptions stem from critical maintenance work carried out by KPTCL at the 66/11KV Vijayanagar substation along with other major facilities in the divisions Jalahalli and Rajajinagar, the official BESCOM advisory said.

On Saturday, the focus shifts to the western and central sections of the city, targeting major residential and industrial clusters.
- Residential Hubs: Basaveshwara Nagar, Vijayanagar, Govindaraja Nagar, Kamakshipalya.
- Layouts: RPC Layout, Binny Layout, Prashanth Nagar, Hosahalli Vijayanagar, MC Layout (partial), Marenahalli Layout, Vinayaka Layout.
- Major Roads: Vijayanagar 7th Main to 13th Main Road, Service Road, Magadi Main Road, Thimmenahalli 1st Stage.
- Industrial Zones: PC Industrial Area, KCG Industrial Area, Nanjappa Industrial Estate, Selvam Industrial Estate.
- Other Blocks: Kaveripura 1st to 8th Blocks, Nagarabhavi 11th Block, KHB Colony, HVR Layout, Syndicate Bank Colony, and Agrahara Dasarahalli.
Reason for the Outage
KPTCL must work on emergency maintenance and "stringing" at the Vijayanagar substation, and the shutdown is mandatory. These preventive steps could be critical to making sure that the grid is able to handle more incoming loads for the next few months.
