Residents and businesses in several parts of the state capital will have to prepare for the electricity outage on Tuesday, February 17, 2026. BESCOM and KPTCL announced that the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company would halt power supply to facilitate emergency maintenance and infrastructure repair work. First and foremost, the outage is due to urgent technical work at the 220/66 kV Manyata Tech Park Substation situated here on one of Asia’s biggest tech hubs and all the residential pockets around it.

Advice for Residents

Citizens are also offered the following advice to minimize the impact of the 7-hour shutdown:

  • Charge Devices: Make sure your laptops, mobile phones, and power banks are completely charged by morning.
  • Water Storage: Before 10 AM, fill up overhead water tanks since water pumps will not work during the outage.
  • Appliances: Unplug sensitive electronic equipment to prevent surges during restoration.
