Great house theft is going on at Machohalli in North Bengaluru through unidentified burglars stole from the house cash worth over Rs 10 lakh from it. It took place in the Madanayakanahalli Police Station and a case has been registered because police are looking into people’s movements to find out who did this.
Naveen lives in Machohalli with his wife and mother. Even though his wife had already left for her parents’ house for childbirth and Naveen and his mother had also left the house to see her and her newborn baby. The burglars took full advantage of their absence to break into the home in less than 24 hrs after the family left the nation.
The thieves broke the main door to gain entry into the house, the victim said. He said that after coming into the house they ransacked and collected the gold ornaments, nearly 5 lakh worth of silver items as they belonged to some rich people for between 5 lakh and 6 lakh while they received cash from home. The overall loss was estimated at over Rs 10 lakh.
The theft was noticed by a neighbor who noticed a CCTV camera outside of the house had been tampered with and damaged. His neighbor became suspicious immediately called Naveen in video calling to see if burglary had taken place.
The accused might have been preoccupied with surveillance before the crime took place at all, as detectives have thought. For a day you can see three people hanging out behind the house to watch it on television and there is evidence that they may have planned theft at night.
Police will now review CCTV camera footage from Police Station in this area to see who was involved. A case has been registered, teams are sent out to find people that are causing trouble. At the same time the burglars were suspected to be in some kind of larger gang that looked after locked homes, he said.
The incidents have raised fears of the safety of homes in the back of these towns whose doors are often unsecured - for example, in the case of family emergencies and for travel home. Police warned local authorities or trusted neighbors should not reveal anything for someone who leaves town for a long period of time for home, said the government.
They think as the investigation continues they can get closer to a solution pretty soon. With it all the residents should always keep an eye out for any sort of suspicious activity; we want to be very thorough and respond to it all at once and talk to a lot of people from the community and not hold things back, they go now of course. “ And when you have such kind of an investigation, things will move very quickly forward,” he said.
