The female worker walked into the showroom and said the CEO had harassed her, officials said. It is said that she spat ink on a senior official and physically assaulted him, slapping him and kicking him in front of the police and other employees on the scene during the tumultuous confrontation.

Workers and guests in the showroom swarmed around the confrontation, viewers said, as the air in the showroom grew heavy. The video is so popular that it went viral on social media and depicts a woman screaming at the CEO; police officers try to rein in the incident so future incidents do not occur.

The woman said she was angry over accusations of workplace harassment and mistreatment. A whole handful of other female staffers are also reporting inappropriate behaviour and harassment by the CEO. But authorities have not investigated the complaints beyond that, officials said.

After some trouble broke out at the showroom, police arrived at the scene. They were accompanied by officials who they said were calming them down and restoring order, they say. No one was said to be seriously injured in the attack. The incident has sparked discussion on the Internet among people.

Many people have asked the authorities to investigate these grounds for complaint in an impartial manner and to take audio recordings of the victims who made statements. The investigators said they could arrange for a preliminary investigation and take notes of the people involved.

Investigators will also be looking at the viral video footage to see if any official complaints that employees have filed against the chief executive regarding the incident. The issue has not received a formal statement from showroom management and Maruti Suzuki. Nor is there necessarily any way to ascertain whether or not the company has launched an internal inquiry into it, either.

These sorts of problems are increasing here, and concerns that harassment in the workplace and employee complaints will continue to grow, especially in the private-sector. And, as legal experts pointed out during the investigations, we need to discover exactly what these claims involve.

We owe it to the people to treat all parties involved equally so that the obligations of the public on an equal-stakes basis with our legal obligations do not exceed an obligation of allegiance to justice. Police officials said they would take further action pending evidence from the ongoing investigation.
