A heated argument between a BMTC bus driver and a motorcyclist on one of Bengaluru's busy roads has gone viral on social media, not only because of the heated argument, but also because of the humorous commentary of a bystander who recorded the incident.
The incident took place in Bengaluru on Wednesday afternoon around Tin Factory junction. The dispute started after the biker said that a BMTC bus had brushed against his motorcycle during the course of his transport while it was travelling on the road, witnesses told us.
The biker confronted the bus driver after the apparently minor collision, and they had a verbal argument in the middle of the road. Traffic stopped for a moment as curious observers watched.
The BMTC bus conductor then intervened and tried to calm both parties. The conductor attempted to mediate the situation and tried to get the driver and biker to settle it peacefully, and was seen talking to both.
But what interested social media users was a vlogger who witnessed the incident. Nearby, he began recording the confrontation on his mobile phone and loudly responded to the scene.
The vlogger is heard in the now-viral video repeatedly shouting, "Hey... Hey... Go home... Just go home!", telling the two men to stop fighting. His animated narration and humorous replies quickly became the highlights of the video, and the fact that viewers were more interested in his commentary than in the actual fight was the main point of the video.
The video has since been widely shared on social media and is viewed thousands of times. Many users said the vlogger’s spontaneous reactions were funny and that calm in road disputes is important.
Road rage incidents in Bengaluru and other cities are not uncommon, as heavy traffic usually makes commuters feel frustrated. In recent years, road rage between drivers and public transport vehicles has been reported, and road users have been advised to avoid confrontations and to report accidents or disputes through the appropriate legal channels.
It has not been officially confirmed if injuries or damage were reported, and it is unclear whether either party has made a police complaint.
