Power outage is supposed to be between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. The outage is likely to impact at least 25 localities across the Guindy and IT Corridor circles. Its primary zones include:
- Guindy Circle: Kannigapuram, Agasthiyar Street, Balaji Avenue, Angalamman Koil 1st and 2nd Streets, Vandikaran Street, and nearby neighborhoods.
- IT Corridor: Major tech hubs and residential districts in the area include Tidel Park, Taramani, Kanagam, Periyar Nagar, Thiruvanmiyur, Indira Nagar, MGR Nagar, and SRP Tools.
- Commercial zones: Velachery, VSI Estate Phase-I, 100 Feet Road, CSIR Road, RMZ Millennium, Kandanchavadi, CPT, Ascendas, and Gandhi Nagar (Adyar).
Reason for Outage
Now, the electricity department says that the temporary shutdown is part of a long-term expansion of necessary infrastructure. This includes working on the local transformer, fixing distribution lines and inspecting equipment to avoid potential outages in the approaching busier summer time.

As the outage does affect large IT parks and residential high-rises, employees in the community and offices might be asked to:
- Charge Devices: To charge laptops, phone and power bank will be up no later than 9:00 a.m.
- Water: Residents of apartments should plan to store water stock as pump lights are out.
