In a shocking incident reported from Chikkaballapur, a newly married woman allegedly fled with gold ornaments just 15 days after her wedding, leaving her husband in distress.
Marriage Arranged Through Brokers
According to reports, the marriage was arranged through brokers, with the couple meeting and getting married on the same day. The groom, identified as Bhaskar from Madanapalle, reportedly trusted the intermediaries without thorough background verification.
The bride, identified as Netra from Bagepalli taluk’s Marganukunte village, had entered into the marriage under unclear circumstances.
Allegations of Concealed Past
It has also been alleged that the woman was already a mother of children, a fact that was not disclosed to the groom before marriage. This revelation has added another layer of shock to the case.
Incident Occurred During Husband’s Absence
The couple was staying at a relative’s house in Chintamani taluk. According to the complaint, while the husband had briefly traveled back to Madanapalle, the woman allegedly escaped from the house, taking along gold ornaments kept there.
Complaint Filed at Police Station
The distressed husband has approached the Batlahalli Police Station and filed a complaint. Police have begun an investigation into the case and are trying to trace the woman.
Growing Concerns Over Fraud Marriages
This incident has once again raised concerns over fraudulent marriages arranged through unverified brokers, where lack of proper background checks can lead to such incidents.
Authorities have urged families to exercise caution and verify details thoroughly before proceeding with matrimonial alliances arranged through intermediaries.
The investigation is ongoing, and further details are expected as police continue their probe.
