Tension erupted in Hyderabad on Wednesday as BJP and Congress workers clashed outside the Telangana BJP state headquarters in Nampally, with stone-pelting and the use of sticks by supporters of both parties.
A few hours later, Congress workers, including MLC Venkat Balmoor, came to the BJP State Headquarters to protest against the BJP. The protest turned into an all-out fight between workers from both sides, with both sides allegedly picking up stones and beating each other with sticks, while others were reported to have thrown stones.

The fight had many people among the crowd boiling over and fighting between the two sides. Social media shows pictures of workers throwing stones and getting into a fight, with the police trying to referee the conflict.
Law enforcement officers arrived just as violence erupted and dispersed the crowd there. Police were also stationed around the BJP headquarters to prevent further violence and to maintain law and order.
The number of people injured in the clash has not yet been confirmed, and there have been no arrests yet. CCTV footage, mobile phone videos, and eyewitness accounts are expected to be reviewed to determine the origin of the violence, and if any unlawful acts were committed by any individual, the police said in a statement.
The cause for the protest and immediate trigger for the violence is being investigated. Congress leaders had come together in opposition to the BJP, and the situation quickly turned into physical confrontations between party workers.
