On the last day of Chaitra Navratri, thousands of devotees arrived at Ayodhya in numbers on March 27, 2026. The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir which had become a holy place of worship since it opened, was full of devotees on March 27 for Ram Navami who came to pray and perform the rituals. There were security measures along the temple premises to make the festival more safe and to manage the crowd.
Chaitra Navratri is a nine day festival in honor of goddess Durga and it follows Ram Navami, the festival of Lord Ram, which is believed to be the birth of Ram as well. It has a great spiritual significance to a person. Special prayers, bhajans and rituals are performed and the birth place of the Lord Ram is observed in Ayodhya.
Based on the great number of devotees to be had, the administration took steps to maintain order: drones were used in observation of the temple area and there were cameras in place taking pictures of the crowd and controlling entry as well. Officers deployed at key points at times to control entry and exit of followers, and high-ranking officials monitored preparations.
The temple was festively decorated with lights and flowers. During this auspicious day one of the festivals is Surya Tilak, at noon, when sunlight falls on the forehead of Lord Ram's idol in a safe-and safe way inside the temple. Because of this very special tradition and the fact that our people are so attached to it, it is very attractive that people come and go many times a day.
Government officials encouraged devotees to respect security precautions and to do a uniform duty at all times and all responsibilities which must be kept under control. Special arrangements were made to simplify darshan queues in order to reduce darshan seats and volunteers were present in handling pilgrims to help. Devotions should be balanced in spirit and behavior in order to provide a safe and genuine spiritual experience.
The event in the Ram Mandir at the tail end of Chaitra Navratri highlights the kind of faith and devotion people really have. Because such things were going on they had very good protection of security and planned to provide the facility to be safest in this space. The whole day was one of rituals as always for worshipers of the divine life in this holy city, Ayodhya.
