Bengaluru E-Khata Service is the next step towards Digital Governance. E-Khata is the official gateway to a system-wide property management revolution by implementing the E-Khata system for the administration and management of property.
The project, which was initiated at the behest of the Greater Bengaluru Authority in partnership with Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike, allows citizens to remotely download their asset documents at the e-Aasthi portal. The e-Khata system will make property-related services more efficient, transparent and accessible.
Traditionally, getting a Khata certificate meant many visits to government offices and reliance on intermediaries. With this digital shift, the entire process becomes completely faceless, and the chances of corruption or delays in doing the work are substantially reduced. The initiative’s commitment to speed is one of its key highlights.
The scale and ambition of the project demonstrate that authorities hope to issue up to 10 lakh certificates by April 2026. After submitting an application, the system would ensure that if the documents are in order, the application would be verifiable and approved within five days.
The process is simple and easy to use. Citizens can sign up or log in to the portal and upload the required documents (for example, Aadhaar eKYC information and GPS coordinates) and apply online to track their application status. The e-Khata can be downloaded when approved to save precious time and effort.
This is part of a broader initiative to make it digital, citizen-centred and hassle-free. Through technology, Bengaluru is becoming the exemplar for urban governance in India, making an essential service a click away. E-Khata also optimally facilitates the documentation of property; trust is built with citizens and civic authorities, which means a wise and transparent world ahead.
