According to police reports, Harshavardhan and Chaitra had married after falling in love, but later separated due to family disputes. The couple has a one‑year‑old daughter. Following the separation, Chaitra moved to Bengaluru with the child, which reportedly upset Harshavardhan.

Investigators say Harshavardhan, with the help of his friend Kaushik, lured Chaitra by offering her ₹20,000 as an advance for a film shoot in Mysuru. Believing the offer, Chaitra agreed to travel, but was allegedly kidnapped on NICE Road near Mysuru Road during the pickup.

Police sources reveal that Harshavardhan later called Chaitra’s mother, claiming he had kidnapped her daughter. He allegedly threatened that Chaitra would only be released safely if their child was handed over to him.

The incident has sparked outrage, with Chaitra’s sister filing a formal complaint at the Byatarayanapura Police Station in Bengaluru. The police have registered a case and begun investigations into the allegations.

Chaitra, known for her work in Kannada cinema, had been living separately with her daughter after the marital dispute. The alleged kidnapping has raised serious concerns about safety and the misuse of personal disputes in the film industry.

Authorities are now probing the case to determine the full extent of the allegations and to ensure the safety of both Chaitra and her child. The matter has drawn public attention, highlighting the intersection of personal conflicts and professional lives in the entertainment sector.
