Raju Bolashetti (53) son to the late former MLA Baburao Bolashetti was found dead in a burned car at Ramapur, Dharwad district. The reason for the discovery is a mystery since police suspect that the car had been burnt but the man that did so was no accident and a probable murder.
The charred body of Raju Bolashetti was later found within his WagonR car, which was found completely burnt in a dense forest area near Ramapur village. The site, a distance away from a railway track, is rather isolated, leading investigators to believe that the crime may have been done behind the scenes.
Police say some unknown individuals may have killed Raju Bolashetti at the time but intentionally set the car on fire to burn away evidence of a different incident. Both the body and vehicle are evidence the fire was not set accidentally after the killing. And investigators think the culprits, in the heat of the chase, fled the scene just after he collapsed and died.
Raju Bolashetti lived in Udakeri in the Belagavi district. The sudden and tragic death of such person has brought a shockwave in the vicinity of the village and political circles.
The Police Dharwad Rural Police rushed to the site when they heard information behind the death. After the incident, the police ordered a thorough investigation on the crime scene, and forensic investigators arrived to collect evidence. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
Police have registered a case and started an investigation. They have investigated and have different motives (e.g. personal enmity, competition and business disputes or other possible causes of the suspected murder). CCTV images from some close to the victim’s recent movements are also being evaluated and information about the recently occurring times for the incident is being processed, the Police said.
Even more of such events underscore how safety and law enforcement in high-tech zones of remote areas remains difficult. At least now residents feel confident and expect immediate action and severe punishment.
As the investigation continues, no doubt all attempts are being made to find the culprits and to apprehend them. More facts would be obtained in the coming day as the investigation continues.
