Kariyanna Sangati, a former Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) and a close associate of Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, died from an extended illness. He died in a private hospital in Bengaluru after he succumbed to multiple organ failure.
Sangati had been suffering from serious health issues for weeks and his health problems went serious over the past few years, his condition deteriorated on a weekly basis. Although patients were taken to the hospital for extensive treatment, he did not survive and died in the hospital and left behind a model of grassroots political service and leadership.
Kariyanna Sangati is a politician, he was influential both within the Koppal region of Karnataka, and in the vicinity of the masses (grassroots). He was active for decades in politics and had good relations with his people. And so he has a reputation to be a good leader, so many of whom he was very friendly with and always inclined to public welfare and development.
He served twice as president of the Koppal Zilla Panchayat, a position which he was so essential in local governance and rural development, with a focus on the infrastructure, the local administration and the needs of the town and township after that. Sangati’s administrative skills and loyalty to the people was valued throughout the country; he was a person everybody recognized for that respect.
Sangati played an important role for DK Shivakumar party and organization activities and is supported a lot for that in the role. The proximity of Deputy Chief Minister made him one of the most influential. He had a simple yet disciplined style as the party was organized and he worked hard behind the scenes to keep it at its basic level.
Sangati came from Yelamageri village in Koppal taluk and so still remained related to his roots. He was celebrated not only as a politician but the way he connected among neighbors and always felt very grounding himself despite those achievements: he was loved on these levels and by people.
Politics leaders, party workers and supporters of his party came to the grieving state after his fall. And people that he was doing as an integral member of that community and in the political landscape at large expressed deep sorrow at losing such a great individual to another time.
This big void will leave a deep impression and a big one indeed, especially deep into the Koppal region where he felt so much leadership and influence and in those with a lot to say. Final rites would be carried out in his native village and prominent figures may be there to go and say their goodbyes.
Kariyanna Sangati’s life is a testament to commitment to the people, humility in service to society of our community. So in that sense. He contributed to the field in politics and, of course, he benefited from such work.
