The bomb threat was sent to the official email address of the Gadag District Administration around 10:00 AM. The message, purportedly sent from an individual named "Arna Ashwin Shekhar," specifically claimed that bombs had been planted in five different locations within the DC office premises, including the District Commissioner's chamber.

Immediate Security Response

Upon receiving the alarming message, the district administration immediately alerted the police and security forces. A massive security operation was launched, involving:

  • The Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS)
  • Sniffer Dogs (Canine Squad)
  • The Anti-Sabotage Check (ASC) Team

All teams rushed to the location and promptly initiated a thorough search of the large office complex.

Two Hours of High Alert

The entire building was placed under intensive scrutiny for approximately two hours. Security personnel meticulously searched all critical areas, including the DC’s cabin and other key departments mentioned in the threat message.

Following the exhaustive check, no suspicious objects or explosives were found anywhere on the premises. Authorities have since concluded that the email threat is highly likely to be a hoax.

The local police have registered a case and have launched an investigation to trace the origins of the email and identify the sender, Arna Ashwin Shekhar, who caused the widespread disruption.
