A temple worker at a famous Ambaji temple in Gujarat has been alleged to have been hiding cash under his feet when counting donations from the devotees. Video of the incident, which was filmed on CCTV cameras inside the donation counting room, has gone viral on social media and has led to a debate over accountability and transparency in the management of religious institutions.
The Ambaji Temple, one of Gujarat’s most iconic pilgrimage sites, attracts lakhs of devotees every year who make generous cash donations to the temple in order to be part of the temple.
