Holiday Announced in Three Regions
In view of the current weather conditions, the taluk administration declared a holiday for:
- Anganwadis and primary schools in Koppa taluk.
- Anganwadis and primary schools in Sringeri taluk.
- Anganwadis and primary schools in Balehonnur hobli of N.R. Pura taluk.
Officials said the precautionary measure has been taken to keep students and staff safe, as heavy rain is expected to continue.
Rivers Witness Sharp Rise in Water Levels
The incessant rainfall has led to a dramatic increase in the inflow into major rivers such as the Tunga, Bhadra, and Hemavathi.
With water levels rising steadily, residents living along the riverbanks are warned to stay alert. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation.

People residing near low-lying areas and riverbanks have expressed concern as the rivers continue to swell. Local officials have advised residents to monitor official advisories and avoid entering flooded areas or crossing overflowing streams.
