Vidyanagar Police, who are leading the investigation, are now looking into explosive new claims: did the accused, a local gym trainer named Samir, trap a young woman with dreams of modeling, only to allegedly force her into an abortion after she became pregnant?
The lure of the limelight
The victim’s parents are now seeking justice against Samir for his actions, saying Samir preyed on the young woman’s hopes. “Samir approached the victim with the promise of making her a ‘top model,’” they wrote in a statement. He asked her to go to his gym daily, forging a bond under the guise of being a professional. As a result, trusting his words and seeing him as a mentor who could open her career in the glamour industry, the girl developed a bond with him.
But the family says this was a calculated setup. Samir is accused of leveraging this intimacy to sexually exploit the victim. And the most chilling thing about the new allegations is that when the victim became pregnant as a result of the abuse, she was allegedly coerced or forced into having an abortion.
A Web of Blackmail and Contradictory Claims
A complaint was filed at Vidyanagar Police Station. A First Information Report (FIR) reported Samir’s horrific story of taking the victim to a local hotel where he spiked her soft drink with sedatives. The complaint said he raped the girl when she was unconscious and recorded it on video to use as leverage for ongoing blackmail.
But the story took a bizarre turn when Samir presented his defense. Samir, contrary to the victim’s version, claimed that he was drugged. He admitted to recording a video, but sensationally claimed that the victim recorded the encounter on her own phone and that he was not in his right senses during the incident.
Police action and Medical Evidence
With the added gravity of the forced abortion claim, the Hubballi police have intensified their data collection. Investigating officers are now combing local clinics and hospitals for medical records that could tell if a termination of pregnancy happened.
The allegations have taken a very serious turn. We are awaiting the final medical examination reports of the victim and are cross-referencing them with the statements provided by both parties. The police are also preparing for a face-to-face interrogation (confrontation) between Samir and the victim to iron out the massive discrepancies in their testimonies.

As the news spreads, local organizations have termed this a textbook case of “Love Jihad” in their view, and communal sensitivity in the city has increased significantly. The police have asked the public to remain calm and wait for the legal process to proceed. The focus is now on VFX technical analysis of the purported blackmail videos and the medical paper trail. If the abortion charges are proven, Samir could face more stringent sections under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Medical Termination of Pregnancy (MTP) Act.
