A 40-year-old general physician from Medchal-Malkajgiri district in Telangana took his own life when he injected himself in his car with a poisonous substance at the Outer Ring Road (ORR) late in the afternoon.
Dr. Vinod Kumar, a resident of Keesara, was employed at a private hospital in the city. It happened around 3:00 PM when a passerby saw a car parked suspiciously near Rampally Dayara and found the doctor unconscious in the driver’s seat.
Investigation at the Scene
When Keesara police arrived on the scene, they found a cannula attached to Dr. Kumar’s right hand and an empty syringe in the vehicle. “He seems to have injected himself with a poisonous substance,” Malkajgiri DCP Ch Sridhar said.
Dr. Kumar was rushed to a local private hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. His body has since been shifted for a post-mortem examination. The police said no suicide note was recovered from the vehicle on Wednesday evening at the scene.
