An Indian billionaire family is now planning to host an extravagant destination wedding in Nha Trang, Vietnam, with the celebrations expected to cost more than 130 billion Vietnamese dong, or ₹47.36 crore.
The high-profile wedding is expected to take place in December and will see more than 1,400 guests in Vietnam, Vietnam’s tourism authorities reported. The scale of the event is drawing huge interest from Vietnam’s tourism authorities and is expected to be one of the biggest Indian weddings in the country.
1,400 Guests Expected From India
The wedding guests are expected to travel directly from India to Cam Ranh International Airport in Khanh Hoa province.
Organisers are arranging charter flights for the large group of people that will allow them to travel together for the celebrations.
According to Phan Quang Dai, General Director of Blue Lemon Vietnam Co. Ltd., which is working with international partners on the event, the guests will stay four nights at a luxury resort in Nha Trang.
The extended stay will be followed by wedding receptions and other celebrations planned as part of the destination wedding.
One of Vietnam’s Biggest Indian Weddings
The organisers believe that the event could become the biggest Indian wedding held in Vietnam so far.
The Indian weddings hosted in Vietnam, in Da Nang, for example, had between 300 and 500 guests. The Nha Trang celebration will be much larger, with more than 1,400 people travelling from India.
The scale of the wedding also reveals the growing popularity of Vietnam as a destination for India’s affluent families looking for overseas wedding venues.
Chefs To Be Flown In From India
Food is also expected to be one of the big themes of the celebration.
The billionaire family will then have a dedicated team of chefs from India to make meals for the guests during their stay.
The Indian cuisine will be provided by the organizers and will also cater to the large wedding party.
Catering will be an extensive logistics exercise as there will be hundreds of guests from India; planning and coordination will be extremely important.
Government Agencies Preparing For The Event
Vietnamese authorities are working with the organisers to ensure that the large-scale wedding takes place smoothly.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Khanh Hoa province, together with the Provincial People's Committee, Customs, Immigration and Provincial Police, are involved in the preparations and coordination.
The involvement of various government agencies is indicative of the scale of this event, as more than 1,400 international visitors are expected to arrive in a relatively short period.
Boost For Vietnam’s Tourism Industry
The wedding could be a great boost to Nha Trang and to Khanh Hoa tourism in general.
Vietnam has attracted many Indian tourists, including luxury travelers and families looking for destination wedding locations.
Khanh Hoa’s tourism officials see India as potentially a key tourism market, because of the population of more than 1.4 billion people in India as well as a growing number of Indians who are travelling overseas.

Nha Trang is well known for its beaches, resorts and coastal landscapes and is an attractive destination for large-scale celebrations.

Aside from the celebrations themselves, the wedding would strengthen tourism relations between India and Vietnam and encourage more wealthy Indian families to consider Vietnamese destinations for future weddings and large private events.
The event also shows how India’s growing luxury travel market is creating opportunities for international destinations seeking high-value tourists.
