According to officials, the fire broke out between 3:30 am and 4:30 am in the Brijeshwari Annex Colony area. Preliminary reports suggest that a car was being charged outside the three-storey house when a sudden explosion at the charging point triggered the blaze, which quickly spread to the entire building.

The situation worsened when multiple LPG cylinders inside the house exploded, intensifying the fire and making rescue efforts extremely difficult.

At the time of the incident, around 10–11 people were inside the house, including family members and guests. While some occupants managed to escape by breaking grills and finding alternate exits, several others were trapped inside.

Emergency teams, including the fire brigade, police, and disaster response units, rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation. Authorities confirmed that three people were rescued, but seven bodies were later recovered from the building.

Officials also revealed that the house had electronic door locks, which delayed access for rescuers and may have contributed to the high casualty count.

The deceased were taken to a government hospital for post-mortem, while the injured received initial treatment. The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation, though authorities suspect the EV charging setup as the primary trigger.
