According to officials, the accused attempted to smuggle the drugs by concealing them inside packets of dog food, a method designed to avoid suspicion during transit. Acting on specific intelligence inputs, DRI officers boarded the train and carried out a targeted operation, successfully intercepting the consignment.

The accused was arrested on the spot along with the seized narcotics. Further investigation led authorities to identify two more individuals linked to the operation, who were also taken into custody.

In a follow-up search at the accused’s residence in Bengaluru, officials recovered 40 debit cards and over 70 SIM cards. Investigators suspect these were being used for financial transactions and communication linked to a larger drug trafficking network.

Authorities believe the case may have wider connections, possibly involving organized syndicates operating across multiple cities. The use of everyday items like pet food packaging highlights the evolving tactics used by smugglers to evade detection.

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence has stated that further investigation is underway to trace the origin and destination of the наркотics, as well as to uncover additional members of the network.

This successful operation underscores the agency’s continued efforts to combat drug trafficking and dismantle illegal networks operating within the country.
