According to Jaipur Police, the victim in the case is Neeraj Sharma (45) and her 23-year-old daughter, Bhumika, who is the prime accused in the case, has been identified as the main accused in the case.

Bhumika allegedly conspired with her uncle and cousin to murder her mother and paid around ₹7 lakh to hire killers to carry it out. Police believe that was done to serve as a government job after her mother died and gain hold on the family’s property.

We uncovered murder plot: accident probe

The case was initially registered as a road accident after Neeraj Sharma was fatally struck by an unidentified vehicle in Jaipur's Pratap Nagar area.

But as police looked at CCTV footage, technical evidence and other circumstantial evidence, they found signs of a carefully planned murder rather than an accidental collision.

Investigators said that the CCTV footage was the key to exposing the conspiracy.

Victim Thrown Nearly 100 Feet

The incident took place between 4:30 PM and 5:00 PM on July 3, said police.

A speeding Scorpio SUV rammed into Neeraj Sharma with such force that she was thrown nearly 100 feet from the point of impact. She died on the spot due to the severe injuries sustained in the collision.

The incident was captured on nearby surveillance cameras that helped to reconstruct the sequence of events.

₹7 Lakh Allegedly Paid to Kill

Police found evidence that about ₹7 lakh was paid to execute the murder.

It is believed that the accused intended to kill the victim to qualify for a government job under the compassionate appointment scheme and to win the family’s property after her death.

Police also alleged that Bhumika's uncle and cousin were part of the conspiracy.

Investigation Continues

Police said this is still an ongoing investigation and further legal action will also be based on the evidence gathered during the investigation.

The government is looking into financial activity, electronic evidence and the role of all those involved in the conspiracy.

The case has sent shockwaves through Jaipur, taking what initially appeared to be a road accident and turning it into an alleged contract killing of close family members.
