According to police sources, the incident occurred on the night of March 11 during the annual function of a government girls’ school held in the premises of the Gram Panchayat building in Savalagi. Reports suggest that Sudeep had allegedly climbed onto the school rooftop during the event.

Local residents accused him of throwing stones toward the stage where the program was taking place. It was also alleged that he attempted to peek into an area where female students were changing costumes for their performances, which reportedly angered some people present at the event.

Following the allegations, a group of youths allegedly confronted and assaulted him. CCTV footage from the area reportedly captured three individuals identified as Raju Mali, Vijay Savalagi, and Mallikarjun Mali beating Sudeep during the altercation.

The injured youth was immediately rushed to the Jamkhandi Taluk Hospital for treatment. However, he later died while undergoing treatment. Medical reports indicated that he suffered a heart attack during treatment, which led to his death.

Based on a complaint filed by the victim’s brother, police have registered a case against the three accused at the Savalagi Police Station. The complaint alleges that the accused assaulted Sudeep, used caste-based abuse, and were responsible for his death.

The case has been registered under relevant sections related to assault, caste abuse, and alleged murder. Police officials said the incident, which occurred earlier this week, has now come to public attention after details of the case emerged.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, and further legal action will be taken based on the findings of the inquiry.
